# Freshness

How current Kelly's values are and how to tell from a response.

Every value carries its `as_of`, so you never have to guess how fresh it is: compare it with the time you show it.

## Live values

On Kelly Wire, `stale_after_ms` on live data says how many milliseconds a value stays current, and each topic's snapshot reports its expected latency. A topic that stops updating is not a sign the value is still true: check `as_of`.

## Reference entries

Reference entries carry `reviewed_at` and `review_due`, and `stale` is true once an entry is past its review date.
